Texas Movers & State Information

Texas is the perfect place for you. But before you choose any movers from 123 Movers, read below to see how great Texas life will be.

Texas, the “Lone Star” state, is the second biggest state in both size and population. It’s bordered by Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Mexico. Texas is so big, it's impossible to categorize it in geographic location, economic powers, cultural diversity, and religion. In the end, we tend to split Texas up into East, West, North, and South; each with its own geography and way of life.

Although Texas has its own state flag, it has a total of 6 flags, each representing a nation that have once had, or currently have, sovereignty over what is now known as Texas:

  1. Spanish Flag: Spain ruled parts of Texas from 1529 to 1685. This flag’s design is two castles and two lions.
  2. French Flag: A French nobleman founded a colony in the Texas Gulf Coast region. Since there was no official French flag during this time, a flag with multiple Fleur-de-lis’ is often used.
  3. Mexican Flag: This flag was used by Mexico from 1823 to 1864. Texas used to be part o Mexico until 1836 when it obtained its freedom.
  4. Republic of Texas Flag: This flag (also the current state flag) was used by the Republic of Texas between 1836 and 1845.
  5. Confederate States of America Flag: This flag was used by the Confederate states between 1861 and 1865, and is also one of three flags used by the Confederacy.
  6. The United States of America Flag: This flag was used by the U.S. from 1845 to 1961 and from 1865 to current day.

Although there have been 6 different flags that have once represented Texas, there has been eight changes in Texas government. To learn more about Texas’ government, visit Texas.gov.

So you can see that Texas has a very rich heritage with many different cultures woven into fabric of its society. Texas is a very diverse place to live; this is not just because of its population, but because of its numerous academic institutions and diverse economical institutions.

Texas also has exciting entertainment venues. There are amusement parks, rodeos, livestock shows, nightclubs, and an enormous live music scene. If you live in Texas you can be assured that there won’t be a lack of things to do.
